A fabulous and exceptionally rare walnut campaign table probably for naval use. The top in solid walnut, the base with spiral fluted legs offset to allow the table to be safely folded. The legs have been partially ebonized indicating a date circa 1810 and the small brackets that secure the legs while flat are original. The surface remains untouched resulting in a superb patina. Two retaining screws are original and two are replaced. This is a rare early piece of campaign furniture that would have been commissioned by a very senior officer of the Royal Navy. A very desirable and useful piece.
