Product Description

Abraham Munter 1626-1683 was Dutch botanist and artist who was professor of botany and chemistry at the University of Groningenand, where he was also director of the extensive botanical gardens from 1658 until his death in 1683. Although he published a number of works during his lifetime his extensive collection of botanical drawings was published in Leyden and Utrecht in 1696 and was later published in a series of Latin editions under the title Phytographia Curiosa.

These two copper plate engravings from the Latin edition are well presented but have not been inspected out of their frames.
