Product Description

In the manner of Gillows and possibly by the company. Very well made and weighted to the base to minimize accidental movement these stands are to be considered very rare. A very similar pair were at Powderham Castle until sold in 2009 and Susan Stuart illustrates another stand stamped “Gillows Lancaster” and dated to 1825-30 in her book Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, vol II, pl. 669.

English and possibly by Gillows, c. 1830
