These remarkable tables are attributed to the leading Scottish cabinetmaker William Trotter (1772-1833). Each with a rectangular hinged top with drop leaves over egg-and-dart banding and a frieze drawers raised on scrolled supports with rosette bosses joined by an in-curved shelf above tapering splayed legs ending in original brass paw feet on casters.  The tops and drawer facings in beautifully figured padouk wood, the bases and borders in solid goncalo alves. A striking pair of tables in rare and and well-chosen woods.
