BRAMAH 124 PICCADILLY .The whole supported on plinths with original wood casters. One drawer and both cupboards signed HOLLAND & SONS. Superb color throughout. Together with three keys.
Holland & Sons were among the most distinguished cabinet makers of the nineteenth century. Founded in 1803 by William Holland, they became Holland & Sons in 1843 and were granted the Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria for whom they worked on commissions for the royal residences Osborne House, Balmoral, Sandringham and Windsor Castle. Other prominent commissions included the British Museum, a number of London clubs and the new Houses of Parliament, a commission they shared with Gillows. Holland & Sons continued under family control until they ceased trading in 1942 and their archives are preserved at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
