DESCRIPTION

This large drinking cup was well turned with very thin & delicate sides and has subsequently developed a slightly oval shape that adds considerably to its charm and appeal.

Wassail bowls were traditionally used throughout England as communal cups passed to toast and welcome in the New Year. They were also extensively used in the south and west country to celebrate the harvests, particularly of cider apples.
