Product Description

With rectangular slate blue velvet upholstered seats, on x-framed legs applied with paterae and joined by ring turned baluster stretchers, on scroll feet. These Grecian style stools derive from a pattern by Thomas Hope published in Household Furniture And Interior Decoration, 1807 pl.12 fig. 3. The fashionable firm of Gillows are thought to have first produced this design in 1812 when they furnished Tatton Park, Cheshire for Wilbraham Egerton
