DESCRIPTION

Each having a flared candle holder with a wide mid-filet and multi-knopped and acorn-turned stem with a broad flat central drip pan all raised on a domed and spreading base with scroll-cut foot rim.

Jacaranda is native to Brazil and the tropical and sub-tropical areas of South and Central America and has been subsequently planted throughout tropical Asia as a shade tree due to the attractiveness of its blue/purple flowers.

These candlesticks, dating to 1660-80 would have originated in Portuguese Brazil and were supplied to Portugal when they were acquired.
