DESCRIPTION

An exceptional slope retaining its original royal purple writing surface and one original traveling silver-topped ink well. This slope has two rare and interesting features. A very fine secret compartment and a removable tray to the lower portion. The bramah lock is marked with two crowns and a patent mark, which would date the slope to before 1800. An exceptional piece.
