Gillows:A Fine and Rare Pair of George III Mirror Image Side Tables.
An elegant and rare pair of tables of exceptional quality. Crafted in satinwood and amaranth (purpleheart) the tables are designed to be mirror images of each other. One standard is of solid satinwood with amaranth inlaid to simulate a fluted column, the other of solid amaranth inlaid with satinwood. The tops centered and banded in opposing designs of satinwood and amaranth with fine boxwood and ebony stringing. The slender columns leading to elegantly curved tripod legs of similarly opposing designs.
One table stamped to the underside of the top GILLOWS . LANCASTER, the other faintly stamped GILLOWS.
